Uecomm Chairman Bob Green today announced that United Energy’s Chief Executive Officer, Don Bacon, has been appointed to the new position of Deputy Chairman of Uecomm.
The Chief Executive Officer of Uecomm, Keith Ondarchie, will report to the Melbourne-based Deputy Chairman.
Mr Ondarchie welcomed the appointment, stating that it would further fortify Uecomm. “Don has worked at a senior management level in network businesses over many years and had a substantial involvement in the listing of Uecomm,” he said.
Mr Green said that the appointment would enable Uecomm’s most senior managers to focus on the execution of business development and broader strategic objectives that are important to the Company’s growth.
In addition, United Energy’s Chief Operating Officer Mike Jonagan has been appointed interim Chief Operating Officer, pending the appointment of a permanent Chief Operating Officer. Mike will concentrate on operational issues which have slowed revenue growth and partially led to Uecomm’s revised revenue forecast being issued in late April this year.
The appointment of a permanent Chief Operating Officer at Uecomm is expected to be announced soon. A search is well underway for a senior executive with extensive telecommunication experience to fill the role. Mr Jonagan will return to United Energy once a smooth transition to the Chief Operating Officer occurs.
United Energy has a 66% shareholding in Uecomm.
