Uecomm Wins 'Best Emerging Telco' Award

Uecomm was honoured at the recent Australian Telecom Awards, where Senator Richard Alston presented the company with the award for ‘Best Emerging Telco’.

Other nominees in the category at the inaugural industry awards included large national operators such as Powertel and Davnet.

Uecomm’s Chief Executive Officer Mr Keith Ondarchie said the award illustrates the fact that the market welcomes new operators who can prove they have both early “runs on the board” and a sound business strategy.

“This award illustrates there is a market for companies who can demonstrate they have what it takes to succeed through its service to existing clients and by setting practical, achievable business goals.

“I was very proud to accept the award on behalf of a talented team that have worked hard to make Uecomm a successful, profitable business in a very short amount of time,” Mr Ondarchie said.

Uecomm was also nominated for the ‘Best Broadband Initiative” Award.

The company currently manages a high technology optic fibre network which spans more than 750 km, and plans to triple it’s network offering by the end of 2001.
