Uecomm honoured at the Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards

Uecomm was last night awarded the 2006 Frost & Sullivan Australia Best Practice Award for Business Communications Service Provider of the Year. This award is testament to Uecomm’s effective business strategy in growing its customer base.

In 2005, Uecomm grew its business by more than 20 per cent. This growth was due to strong uptake of Uecomms’ Ethernet services – a segment in which Uecomm is gaining considerable market share.

Uecomm employs around 200 people and in 2005 achieved $100 million in new business wins. Some of the Uecomm’s key customer wins include NSW Department of Education and Training, Channel Ten, Australian Red Cross, Queensland Health and MBF.

According to Dean Tognella Uecomm’s CEO, the company’s targeted approach in encouraging enterprises to migrate from traditional offerings such as ATM and Frame Relay to Ethernet is paying off.

“It’s an exciting period for Uecomm as more and more businesses recognise the importance of Ethernet in metropolitan and wide area networks and the advantages a fibre network delivers.

“We are honoured to accept the award from Frost & Sullivan and it demonstrates our sustained flexible approach to business, innovative products, competitive pricing and of course, great customer service,” Mr Tognella said.

“In terms of revenue growth, Uecomm has outperformed its competitors, with a CAGR of 25 per cent over the last 2 years”, says Tony Tu, research analyst at global growth consulting company, Frost & Sullivan. “Uecomm has become a force to be reckoned with in the Ethernet services space due to its focus on service efficiency and quality”.

Uecomm’s Award is part of Frost & Sullivan Australia’s annual Best Practices Awards. The Awards seek to recognize outstanding performance and industry achievements by leaders in the Australian Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Healthcare industry.

A panel of independent Judges comprising influential personalities and leaders in the Australian ICT industry chose Uecomm as the Business Communications Service Provider of the Year based on actual market performance indicators such as; revenue growth, market share and growth in market share, leadership in product innovation, breadth of products and solutions, major customer acquisitions, business and marketing strategy.
