Uecomm Deploys XACCT’s N2B Platform
MELBOURNE, Australia and SANTA CLARA, Calif., August 26, 2003 - XACCT Technologies, a leading provider of network data management solutions for global communications service providers, today announced that Uecomm Limited, Australia's specialized fiber broadband carrier, has deployed XACCT's Network-to-Business (N2B) platform for pricing network usage for its broadband IP data services.
XACCT's software enables Uecomm to record network traffic as well as help in new services planning and traffic engineering functions based on comprehensive network and service usage data. XACCT delivers accurate accounting and reporting of IP usage, which will help Uecomm's customers to better understand their network traffic and allow them to easily and simply diagnose unexpected events in their business network usage. XACCT's modular architecture and flexibility allows for rapid adaptation to changes in the network and business operations.

In a competitive broadband market it is critical for a service provider to be nimble, both in its network as well as in its business operations, in order to offer customers innovative services with value-based pricing options. XACCT's N2B software platform enables Uecomm to improve its operational efficiency by providing a single point of interface between Uecomm's optical fiber, IP and Gigabit Ethernet networks and its business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS), such as SAP and traffic engineering applications. Network and service usage information collected and processed by XACCT's software is delivered to the SAP system for consolidation with customer equipment rental and line charges for billing and CRM purposes. In addition, highly granular network data is streamed to other analytics applications for service planning and traffic engineering purposes.
