Uecomm delivers business continuity solutions to world leading provider of transaction technology

Melbourne, Australia - 20 May 2003 - Specialised fibre broadband carrier, Uecomm Limited, today announced it had signed a contract worth over $1 million over a three-year period with OM in Australia. OM is a world leading provider of transaction technology for the financial services and energy industries.

The win will see Uecomm's MetroWave service used for many applications throughout OM including storage networking.

According to Lars André, General Manager of OM in Australia, MetroWave is ideally suited to handle OM's business continuity needs as it provides the infrastructure for an extended network to fully support OM's dual/fully redundant data centre solutions. "It gives us the capacity to extend our offerings further within Disaster Recovery Services (DRS) on the Australian market.

Uecomm has demonstrated its ability to provide us with a managed service solution that gives us considerable flexibility over our network configuration. More importantly, it also allows us to use a range of protocols on our network. All this enables us to deliver better service to our customers," said André.

Uecomm worked with Lumentis, OM's global equipment provider of DWDM platforms, to deliver the solution for OM in Australia.

Brendan Park, Uecomm's products and marketing director said that the deal further establishes Uecomm's position as one of Australia's preferred fibre broadband carriers to business and government departments.

"OM had very clear business drivers.  Due to the fast-paced nature of their business, they required an extremely reliable network with the flexibility to use different protocols as well as 24-hour operational support.  Our network allows OM to meet their business continuity requirements as well as respond to issues and customers in a timely manner," said Park.

"In today's complex business environment, companies should more seriously consider having business continuity and disaster recovery plans in place.  Being the first Australian broadband carrier to market such solutions, Uecomm is capable of assisting businesses with this."

Every network is different. Our focus is always the same. You.
